Q: What inspired you to attend Clark Atlanta University (CC, AU, or CAU, and how did your time there shape who you are today?

A: School Daze, A Different World, and family members who attended HBCUs inspired me to attend Clark Atlanta University. I was accepted as an undergrad but ended up graduating from a local college just outside of my hometown in Amherst, NY. I always knew I would make my way back to CAU, and in 2020, during the pandemic, I enrolled and that decision changed my life. I had the opportunity to work alongside an amazing cohort of entrepreneurs, athletes, data analysts, and subject matter experts, who were determined to be successful. Being in the flow of great company and like-minded peers inspired me to continue this great work even after graduation to make sure the following cohort felt the same energy.

Q: Can you share a memorable experience or tradition from your time at CAU that still resonates with you?

A: Attending the National Black MBA Association Conference in Chicago, IL, and winning 1st place in the Graduate Case Competition sponsored by Stellantis in 2021. My team had a phenomenal coach and mentor, Dr. Patten, who stretched us and inspired us to achieve greatness. That experience showed me the true definition of teamwork and dedication to effective storytelling.

Q: How has being part of the CAU alumni network, especially in the Carolinas, impacted your personal or professional journey?

A: Honestly, I enjoy being able to give back to the students most of all, but I am also being mentored and inspired through the stories shared by Clark College and Atlanta University graduates. When they speak, I listen and soak up the walking history that we have in our own chapter. This has given me a deeper appreciation for a multi-generational alumni network.

Q: What advice would you give to current CAU students or recent graduates navigating life after college?

A: Stay connected to the university and your cohort. Continue to network because your performance plus your relationships equals your advancement. Good luck!
