Embracing a New Season

Scripture: “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?” Isaiah 43:19 (KJV)

October reminds us of the changing seasons. The leaves turn, temperatures shift, and nature shows us that change can be beautiful. Spiritually, changing seasons also remind us that God is continually at work—creating new possibilities, opening new doors, and calling us into new places of purpose.

As Clark Atlanta University alumni, we are part of a legacy that continues to grow and evolve. We honor those who came before us while accepting our responsibility to strengthen the path for those who will come after us. Wherever this season finds us, Isaiah reminds us to look again: God may be doing something new.

October: A Month of Awareness, Compassion, and Support

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to honor and support those in our alumni family whose lives have been impacted by breast cancer. We recognize survivors, encourage those currently undergoing treatment, appreciate caregivers, and remember with love those we have lost to this disease.

October is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month. During this month, we remember that domestic violence can affect individuals and families in every community. We stand with survivors, remember those whose lives have been lost, and encourage those who may be suffering in silence to know that they are worthy of safety, dignity, support, and hope.

As an alumni family, may we be people who not only wear ribbons but also extend compassion. May we listen without judgment, support without condemnation, speak up when necessary, and help create communities where people feel safe seeking help.

This October, let us surround those facing breast cancer and those impacted by domestic violence with prayer, encouragement, compassion, and tangible support. Let us be reminded that sometimes embracing a new season means believing that healing is possible, help is available, and a new beginning can emerge from even the most difficult chapter.

We are wearing pink. We wear purple. But more importantly, we stand together.

PRAYER

Gracious God,

Thank You for bringing us into a new season. Help us to recognize the new things You are doing in our lives and give us faith to walk boldly into what lies ahead.
