More Than a Feeling: A Life of Love
February invites us to reflect on love, but Scripture reminds us that love is far more than a moment, a gesture, or a feeling. Love is the very nature of God and the clearest expression of our faith in action. The Apostle Paul writes, “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13). This love is patient and kind, enduring and sacrificial. It is love that carried us through seasons of growth, challenge, and transformation, both during our college years and beyond.
As alumni, we are living testimonies of love at work. We have been shaped by praying mentors, faithful educators, supportive peers, and a community that invested not only in our minds, but in our souls. That love continues to call us toward service, compassion, and connection long after graduation. Jesus reminds us, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35). Love is our witness. It is revealed in how we show up for others, how we extend grace, and how we remain committed to the well-being of our neighbors and our alma mater.
This February, may we be intentional about reflecting Christ’s love through generosity, encouragement, forgiveness, and prayer. May our love be active, rooted in faith, and guided by purpose. And may we remember that the love we give is a continuation of the love first given to us by God.
“Let all that you do be done in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14).
