Prayer is not simply something we do—it is how we align our hearts with God. In Matthew 6, Jesus teaches us to pray with intention, humility, and trust. The Lord’s Prayer reminds us to begin with reverence, submit to God’s will, depend on Him for daily provision, seek forgiveness, extend grace to others, and ask for spiritual protection.
As we navigate life’s ebbs and flows, consider not just what you are praying for, but how you are praying. Are your prayers centered on God’s will? Are they grounded in gratitude and trust? Prayers have the power to reshape our perspective, renew our strength, and guide our steps. The model prayer taught by Jesus in Matthew's chapter 6 encourages us to focus on the following areas:
Adoration: Thank God for who He is
Alignment: Ask God to guide your will and decisions
Provision: Trust Him with your daily needs
Forgiveness: Seek a clean heart and extend grace to others
Protection: Ask for strength, wisdom, and discernment.
Let us follow the example of Jesus when we pray so that our prayers not only transform our lives but also those around us.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for being our source, our sustainer, and our guide. Help us to pray with sincerity, live with purpose, and walk in obedience to Your will. As we go about our days, may our hearts remain anchored in faith and our actions reflect Your love. Amen.
