Q: What inspired you to attend Clark Atlanta University (CC, AU, or CAU, and how did your time there shape who you are today?

A: My aunt Mary Kendrick, who went to Atlanta University, inspired me to attend CAU. She also paid for me to attend.

Q: Can you share a memorable experience or tradition from your time at CAU that still resonates with you?

A: I remember protesting against Apartheid in South Africa. All the AUC students were, and Clark was in the front. My family saw me on the news and thought they would have to get me out of jail, but it was a peaceful protest, and as you know, Nelson Mandela was released from jail.

Q: How has being part of the CAU alumni network, especially in the Carolinas, impacted your personal or professional journey?

A: It has impacted me personally because I get gratification from giving my training in Accounting back to the chapter as a Financial Secretary.

Q: What advice would you give to current CAU students or recent graduates navigating life after college?

A: I would advise them to get connected in their local alumni chapter and serve. They will reap rewards unexpectedly as a result of the people they meet, the service they give, and the fun they will have.
